In general I am dissatisfied with them. They usually give me generic ideas that I already knew to begin with. I understand some of the same things works for a variety of people but I nearly felt as if he was relaying a speech he's given to all the others he advised on nutrition and exercise.

24 Hour Fitness facility - I don't think I will go there. All equipment are using by members. The equipment will be heading to repair shop soon than later. I don't feel safe workout in there.

I have used fitness instructors from gyms in the past and only 1 out of the 3 were able to provide me with results. Try those personal trainers outside of the gym. They may help out more.

That's why I never recommend getting fitness instructors and always suggest exercise groups with friends. I personally know a fitness gym trainer who isn't even healthy herself (she looks very skinny and frail). And as far as I'm concerned, none of her clients look healthy either.

Maybe I'm naive but you joined 24 Hour Fitness to see if you could hire their instructors? Didn't you say, in another thread, that you teach water aerobics? I would think that you would have asked for a tour of the 24 Hour Fitness facility before you joined in order to meet and talk with teh instructors to see their qualifications. If they didn't your skill or certification expecation, you shouldn't have joined, but rather you would go to another fitness center or gym to see if they met your standards or expectation.
As for Zumba, there is no one way to teach but rather the emphasis is that dancing leads to fitness, and that letting the music move you is more important than counting repetitions to the music.
That said, there are different levels or methods to Zumba. Basic Zumba is is considered a Zumba Fitness-Party, and the fun of the movement leads to fitness. Note that rather than getting into great shape, the Zumba Fitness-Party (according to Zumba Fitness), one of the benefits of the Zumba Fitness-Party is that it often leads to a sense of community [comraderie] among the Zumba students taht return to class. Zumba Gold is for baby boomers and changes moves and pacing to meet the needs of "active" older people; it builds on the Zumba Fitness-Party. Zumba Toning is targedted body exercises and high-energy cardio work to the music. Aqua Zumba is considered a Zumba pool party and the program highlights, according to Zumba Fitness (and I can't make this up if I wanted), splashing, twisting, shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering to help people with cardio-conditioning. There's Zumbatomic for kids. And there's Zumba® in the Circuit, fast paced 30-minute session.
Zumba, depending on what you want from it, is all different things, the most basic being what amounts to simply having fun moving to the music. The more you want specialization, the more you have to change Zumba programs.

Can't speak for other fitness businesses, but when I worked as a trainer and swimming instructor during college, many of my co-workers were weak, out-of-shape and had little knowledge of training techniques, anatomy, nutrition etc. Many didn't have the right personality to be effective trainers, or motivators.
